Get out on the right side of the bed…

romeo.jpgYou know, it occurred to me that the side of the bed we get out of really determines how are day will be.  Figuratively, of course.  Really the thing Romeo is talking about is attitude.  Our attitude is what really sets the mood or tone for the day.  We can choose to be cynical, optomistic, wary, weary, wiley, wise or winsome.  The choice is ours and our attitudes likely have more impact on our days than our circumstances.  Here is a team that won only 4 games, did not look good doing so, endured a public debate over whether or not the coach should be fired and yet not long after the Superbowl, it is a new season and hope springs eternal.  That is why we must keep our minds on whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things, for  Great is his faithfulness; his mercies begin afresh each morning.

CANTON–Maybe it was just coincidence.

Or maybe it was done on purpose.

No matter, for the bottom line is that it all fit together like a glove on Monday in suburban Canton, Ohio.

Now, if only the 2007 season could go this smoothly for head coach Romeo Crennel and his Browns.

As the Pro Football Hall of Fame Luncheon Club put to bed its 2006-07 year, Crennel stressed to an overflow crowd of more than 350 the importance of having a good attitude — of getting out of the right side of bed.

“When you get out of the right side of bed in the morning, you’re cheerier, brighter and more optimistic. You see the glass as half-full,” Crennel, the featured speaker, said at the club’s final regular meeting of the year at the Four Winds Restaurant. “When you get out of the left side of bed, you’re dull and you don’t want to be bothered.
